Children’s theatre and animated film

For many students, summer vacation is almost over now, but the fun doesn’t have to be! A cornecopia of theatre plays at the ongoing China Children’s Theatre festival is one of the ways to keep them entertained.

The month-long China Children’s Theatre festival has gathered some 46 drama works from eight countries and regions.

The festival has successfully held five editions since 2011. Organizers say what made this year’s festival distinct from previous years is a special arrangement that enhances audience interaction.

This troupe from Taiwan brought with them a classic fairytale from their repertoire. They also held a workshop for both the children and their parents. And it’s proved to be a huge hit.

“The children are having a lot of fun and that’s what matters. The workshop helps them work on their confidence, and become more independent and articulate. That’s good for them in the future,” said Zhao Ziqiang, director. Read more…
