Andrew Greene is suing the producers of the acclaimed film over his alleged depiction, claiming P.J. Byrne’s portrayal of Nicky ‘Rugrat’ Koskoff has damaged his reputation to the tune of £10.5 million.

Greene maintains the toupee-wearing Koskoff is clearly himself.

A judge previously rejected the broker’s claims but allowed Greene to amend his suit and assert the filmmakers maliciously libelled him.

At a hearing in New York on Thursday (16Jun16), Judge Steven Locke granted Greene’s motion to compel a deposition from DiCaprio, despite defence lawyers’ arguments that director Martin Scorsese and screenwriter Terence Winter had already given testimony, and that plaintiffs had failed to give any reason why they needed to question DiCaprio, as he didn’t write the screenplay or portray the character at the centre of the drama.

Judge Locke agreed Greene’s legal team could depose DiCaprio, one of the film’s producers through his Appian Way company.
