Nigeria: Dream Team Has Quality Despite Rohr Snub – Sadi

Apart from skipper John Obi Mikel and goalkeeper Daniel Emmanuel who joined Coach Samson Siasia does team to Brazil as over aged players, only central defender William Troost Ekong, right back Abdullahi Shehu and forward Imoh Ezekiel made the cut despite several others impressing during the Olympics Games.

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has invited 23 players for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania in Uyo. The game is a mere formality, as the three times AFCON winners are out of the race to qualify for next year’s event in Gabon.

“Though many of the Olympics stars didn’t make the cut but I don’t it’s a deliberate thing as there other several new faces in the invited team though many people would have love to see more of the U-23 in the team especially considering their impressive outing in Rio and the nature of the Tanzania game.” former Hamburg player, Sadi told Daily Trust.
